Today we got a new vocab list, and we discussed all the words...the test for this will be next MONDAY...afterwards, we read a few pages in HEROES (just to page 24...as that is all we had time for)

Today you were given about ten minutes to look over the rest of "The battle with Grendel" in your text book....then you were given a test that included this section of the poem IN ADDITION TO the background notes we took/discussed before starting the reading...

We went over the notes you were to take on this section (references to Christianity, Beowulf's arrogance, and Beowulf's greatness//power)....

We also discussed the first section of the reading in depth...

We began "The Battle with Grendel's Mother" and stopped at line 55....
