ORANGE DAY

SENIORS!!!!

Today we went over the Latin and Greek root vocab words...this quiz will be on THURSDAY FOR ALL!! You need to be sure you have a) learned what the roots mean b) learned the words I gave you c) learned some words on your own that contain the roots (real words that were NOT on the list I gave you.

We continued with claim, data, warrant argument writing, and today we looked at the DOWNEAST MAGAZINE article "25 things every Mainer should know" and we discussed some claims and data we could use to prove those points...

You dont need to write anything tonight...although you should be thinking about your OWN claim, data, warrant piece for your final...we will talk more about this on Thursday...

FRESHMEN

We continued with Act 1 of 'reading' the film and taking notes for R&J. We then took the quiz on Act 1 and the Shakespeare background. Please come prepared on Thursday to do new vocab ANNNND read aloud for Act 2!!

Bring your vocab (that Mr Lessard had you do) for next class...we will go over these Latin and Greek roots on Tuesday!

Just be thinking about a claim you would like to pursue for your argument paper....

FRESHMEN

We got caught up on ROMEO AND JULIET stuff for act 1....we went over the study guide that you should have completed....I explained the process of finding and using the NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE on the Internet...we began the film for Act 1 of the play, and took notes...

Remember: we are READING the film as much as we are READING the actual play...take good notes

Next time we will have a test on Act 1 AND the Shakespeare history we took notes on. STUDY as you WILL NOT be able to use notes on the test...
