1. Today we did a new vocabulary list and the test will be next MONDAY. Please make sure you have all the definitions and parts of speech
2. We continued with some composition by focusing on following/giving clear and detailed directions....we worked on this with the "Back To Back" drawing activity
3. PLease be sure for next class to write for me CLEAR DIRECTIONS on how to do something. BE SURE TO INCLUDE transition words in your explanation and directions.

BLACK DAY
ENGLISH 12
Today we got new vocab words for a test that will be on Friday....this is part 2 of the "Greek Mythology Word set" we had from before. The words are:

Today we just had a catch up day, since we only had half the class due to the homeroom survey.....
COLLEGE PREP 12
Today we worked in our composition books going over exercise 9 and exercise 10 on page 109 and 110....we then went over how to use APPOSITIVES correctly in sentences...they are very good for adding voice to our writing.....we will be going over them more on Tuesday, and we will be writing an in class composition as well !

TOday we focused on beginning our new composition unit...we talked specifically about transitional words and how to use them correctly in our writing...we worked in the purple books, doing the exercise on page 22....REMEMBER to take good notes (or get them from someone if you missed class) because they will be collected after we finish our discussion on Thursday!

Today in class we took our vocabulary quiz after going over the words as practice....
We did a quick review of the adjectives we have been learning about by doing a short writing prompt and integrating adjectives INTO our writing....
We did a quick lesson on APPOSITIVES and how they can really enhance our writing when we add this bracketed off information within our sentences...

We continued our study of grammar and composition by looking on page 108 and reading about how to use adverbs effectively....
We did exercise 10 on page 109 and we began going over it...we ran out of time and we will continue with it on Wednesday....

People shared their "corruption" projects....
We viewed, for fun, some scenes of THE REDUCED SHAKESPEARE COMPANY perform some improv skits of Shakespeare's plays
We will begin our next writing unit on Tuesday....

Today we reviewed adjectives by taking notes and doing exercises on pages 107 and 108 in the purple books...
We reviewed the vocab words----for the TEST THAT WILL BE ON MONDAY!!---by putting as many words as we could in sentences AND ALSO WORKING AN ADJECTIVE into each one of these sentences! This was collected and will count for a participation grade....

Today we finished watching/taking notes on HAMLET....please bring your books last time so I can collect them....please be prepared to present your 'corruption' presentation quickly on Friday so you can have that grade in the gradebook....a reminder that on Friday you will have a test on Acts 4 and 5 of HAMLET--this is basically the last two classes of film that we watched and discussed....you MAY use your notes on this test!
