ORANGE DAY

DUAL ENROLLMENT

1) BEOWULF
-rest of notes on the history and story of Beowulf
-depending on what class you were, we did two different things (due to shortened schedule)
block 2-read the first section on your own in class "The Battle with Grendel"
block 4-read the first section at home

ALL CLASSES TAKE/TOOK NOTES ON THE FOLLOWING:
-evidence of the men's 'nervousness' towards Grendel
-how Beowulf is described as a 'great' and strong character
-how there are Christian undertones to the story (evidence of the monks who wrote it)
-details that show Grendel's 'appearance'

PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK THIS BLOG NEXT WEEK, as I will be out on Tuesday and there will be sub plans!

COLLEGE PREP 11

1) A SEPARATE PEACE
-discussion of first two chapters, focusing our notes on
   *typological names
   *trees
   *Finny's acts of rebellion
   *Finny's appearance

-you do not need to read chapter 3, as the sub will have you do this when I am at a conference on Tuesday!
