Today we went around the room and reviewed the vocabulary words you were to look up for today....then, for a participation grade, you were asked to put those words in an original sentence...these were collected for a grade for participation!!!

You were also ASSIGNED your composition topic for the end of our BEOWULF unit....we will be discussing due dates AND the elements of the assignment this week...but, for now, here is the actual prompt:



Compare or contrast the character of Beowulf with a modern day example of an "epic hero." Be sure to utilize specific details from the story of "Beowulf" in your response. Also, you should pay careful attention to utilize conventions, stereotypes,  and elements of epic hero stories (i.e. the notes we talked about!!!) to support your comparison or your contrast!
