-read story together and do 'thought questions'
-discussion points in groups: Do we have any weird traditions, as a culture, that just do not make sense? How/when can a tradition be harmful to a culture? Explain
-share responses, etc
-I collected the stories, but please bring the thought questions back on Monday so we can discuss the story
2. "Once More to the Lake" by E.B. White
-read the story on line OR come see me and get a paper copy
-What is a prevailing literary device used by White in this essay? Craft a response!

1. Vocabulary
-finish the words we did not finish last time
-Google image activity: For ten of your words, Google-image an appropriate, powerful example of that word...then, write a couple of sentences explaining why you chose this image
2 THE RED BADGE OF COURAGE
-we will have a test on the book on Monday....you should at the very least read the SparksNotes summaries, etc. You MAY NOT use your notes on this. The Test will be true/false, matching, short answer, etc. It will also have some of our more recent RED BADGE vocab on it!! STUDY! (but, if you check this blog regularly, you probably already DO study...so great job!)
