-we discussed strategies for effective leads....learned about the Goldsmith QAQS strategies...
FRESHMEN
1. Greek and Latin roots
-hear new words you found on own
-review exercises in the vocab workbooks....exercise 1, 2, 3 starting on page 8
-study for quiz which will be on Friday!
2. Paragraph writing
-two review sheets given to do for homework....underlining topic sentences, putting details in order, etc...make sure this is done for next time!
HONORS/DUAL ENROLLMENT
1. College Essay
-focus on effective leads with QAQS strategies...
-"dark and stormy" examples
-"question game" activity with partners for about ten minutes
-focused piece of writing--focus on leads--for about 9 minutes
-your first GRADED essay piece is due on Friday...MAKE SURE IT IS TYPED AND PRINTED OUT BEFORE YOU COME IN!!!! "Describe what your clothing says about you. Remember, 'clothing' can be defined as the clothes you wear....but it also entails 'accessories' like bags, hats, purses, jewelery, piercings, or anything else you carry on your 'person.'
The essay will be graded on VOICE and your LEAD
