Today we read in HEROES from pages 24-37 in class....I read some out loud, and we discussed as we read....then you were asked to finish on your own....

You were asked to write to the following prompt after you were done reading:

Robert Cormier uses the first few chapters of the book to really introduce us to the character of Francis. Pick 2 of the following, and explain how Cormier reveals Francis in terms of: his treatment of other people, his gentleness, his love of romance, his forgiving nature, his own deformities, the way he obsesses about things, or whatever else you choose to explore...

I did not collect this today, as some were still working...please bring it for next class!

Your tests have been corrected and are in IC...I am not passing them back yet because several students need to make it up...

Today we continued reading together and on your own from THE BATTLE WITH GRENDEL'S MOTHER....please note that we take notes almost EVERY DAY, so if you miss class, get the notes from a classmate!

Additionally, you were given an in class "test" to work on while you read independently from the poem....this will be collected and graded before we go over it on Monday....use your books to find the best answers!
