-there will be a test on Wednesday covering the book all the way through chapter 25....keep in my mind that you MAY use your notes on this, so bring everything you have!
-the reading assignment for next time is to read the chapters from pages 153-175. NOTE that these chapters will NOT be included on Wednesday's test....

-take reading check quiz...go over quiz as way of discussing 'fox and hounds' and 'I kin yee Bonnie Bee' chapter'
-split up into two groups...your choice...the first group does research on the Trail Of Tears and presents at least three facts about it...the second group considers grandpa's commentary on page 37 about 'words' and how they can be harmful...have a discussion with your group and generate a list of 5-10 ways 'words' can be 'harmful' in our society--not just with swears, insults, etc!
-bring this next time so we can go over it!
-homework is to read the next two chapters....

-read aloud some of 1.2 as a class...take notes...
-distribute 'study guide' for 1.2 and work through the rest of the scene, translating lines...
-go over some of them...then we ran out of time.....finish 10-14 for next time on the study guide!
-please read 1.3 and choose FOUR quotes to do on the study guide (the other side of the 1.2 study guide is the 1.3 guide)...you only need to do four...dont do all of them
-this is a participation grade!! Hang in there!! Work hard with this!!

-write to the prompt "A Place to Remember" and make sure you give me THREE good supporting paragraphs about a place that has meaning to you...WHY does this place have meaning? WHAT is important about it? etc....come see me beforehand if you are confused
-YOU. MUST. HAVE. A. HARD. COPY. OF. YOUR. PAPER. IN. CLASS. no emailing me or "i have to print it" etc....
