-go over sentences that were done for today for HW
-remember to study for your test which is on Wednesday!
2. TMDG
-begin 'maps' in class to emphasize the 'land novel' aspect of the story....how does the setting of the story affect the actions? (BTW--you all did a great job working on these today...we will have about another ten minutes next time to finish them in class!)

2. "A Rose for Emily"
-discuss three aspects of the story a) things that are taboo in our culture/people who defy the status quo b) the character of Emily and how she goes against the status quo c) the clues/foreshadows/symbolic things that influence the story
3. Please read Hemingway's "The End of Something" for class next time....in addition, please think about three instances of symbolism in this short piece. It is a very short story....but it is FULL of symbolic objects that can be 'looked into further.' Put on your thinking cap...think outside the box...give it a try.....
