-finish film/discuss Appearance vs reality conflict
-your essay is due the class we get back from vacation.....if you want, you can give it to me tomorrow so you dont have to think about it over vacation....
Discuss how the conflict of Appearance vs Reality exists in the final acts of the play HAMLET. You should work hard to maintain a sense of UNITY of examples in your response; don't just 'randomly' throw in examples of how the conflict exists. Rather, you should try to bring a common idea of how the examples exist in the life of a particular character, scene, or event in the play!

-five minute check in regarding the paper....remember, you need to do both the graphic organizer AND the paper...I need both of them!
-I gave the option of showing me your graphic organizer today or tomorrow (Friday) before vacation and earning an extra FIVE POINTS!! on your paper!!! Take advantage of this!! Either way, your paper is due the class we get back from vacation

-write on board questions to ponder about things that seem a certain way to characters, ourselves, etc
-from this point on, as we view the film, make it your job to consider how the conflict of Appearance versus Reality is present....your job is to generate a thesis idea about how this conflict works in Act 4 & 5 of the play....

2. Introduce LITTLE TREE claim paper (claims to choose from were written on board)

1. Today we had a big chunk of class time to work on three things. Number one is to finish the book LITTLE TREE. Number 2, if you want, is to write me the half page reaction to the end of the story...this is an extra credit grade. Number 3 is to work on the 'quote response' sheet I passed out in class today. Remember: You are to pick one quote and write a paper responding to the four bulleted points at the top. DEVELOP YOUR PARAGRAPHS!!!
2. For the second part of class, we began our next vocab list....we will finish this next time
HONORS/DUAL ENROLLMENT
1 Since we did not meet on Monday (halfday!) your Hamlet mood papers will be due on Friday. Today we watched the film of Act 3, and you should use evidence from the film today to support the claim you make in your paper!
